MCS is excited to announce that we have been awarded two federal grants:

Accelerating Promising Practices for Small Libraries (APP) Grant

MCS was awarded $49,955 to create a Videography class at the high school level to begin in the 2020-2021 school year.  During the upcoming school year, we will develop the curriculum that goes with this class along with purchasing the equipment to support its success.  This class will make use of the green room that is located off the library.

Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant

MCS was awarded $83,000 in federal funding to increase access to STEM programs.  This grant will allow us to expand our Career Opportunities in Rural Education (CORE) program which is now in its 8th year.  The grant will also allow us to implement a micro-credentialing platform across Otsego, Delaware, and Chenango counties.

With these two grants, MCS will continue to lead the way in our region in the areas of STEM education and the arts.  We are well on our way to becoming the best rural school district in NY!
